Joshua Tree National Park in this adventurous experience.

And guess what? NO CHANICHIM!

And the extra bonus - rock climbing on the last day!

          Drop off                                 We will meet at the trailhead in Joshua Tree                                                              National Park on December 22, at 7:00 PM.

          Pick up                                  December 24, 5:00 PM at the end of the trail.

Preparation meeting - Mandatory

December 16 at the JCC, 3:00 - 5:00 PM

           In this meeting we will go over the details of the trip,  we will talk about what  

           and how to pack and  what to bring and what not to bring.

           Please bring with you to the meeting your backpack, tent and sleeping bag,

           as well as any other gear items you are not sure about.

           Attendance in the preparation trip is a must.

 

Registration

Please submit your TWO required forms (see below) with a check payable to

“BSA Troop 1948” to Sabrina, Edna or Gabi.

          Fee            $155 due December 16

                             Early registration discount by December 10  - $15

                             Sibling discount - $15

         

          Refund:    Since we have to prepay $50 per child for the rock-climbing activity,                                we will have to deduct this amount from any refund given, regardless                              of the reason for cancellation.

What to bring?

Remember: We will be backpacking - carrying all on our backs! So pack light.

The night will be cold. Expect about 35 degrees Fahrenheit. 

  • Tent - a tent for each 2-3 people
  • Warm sleeping bag
  • Camping mattress
  • Backpack - at least 50 liter capacity (or 3000 cubic inch)
  • Closed toe shoes - preferably hiking boots rather than sport shoes
  • Hat
  • Full Tzofim uniform
  • 6 liters of water
  • Long sleeve shirt for the night
  • Warm jacket for the night
  • Gloves and fleece hat - recommended
  • Toiletries
  • Flashlight
  • Sunscreen

           

      Note:

There are no other items necessary for the trip, so don't bring them! If you have  a question  about  additional items, you can consult with Gabi.

Another note: In addition to those items we will be carrying our food and cooking  appliances  with us, so make sure you leave some room in your backpack.
